Happy Holidays: 12 Day Money Saving CHALLENGE!

Happy Holidays! It’s my favorite time of the year, and I wanted to share with you something special I am working on!

It is called…The 12 Days of Christmas Holiday Spending Challenge!

Are you intrigued? Well if the holiday season brings you a lot of stress, like it does for me, then this will help. Whether your stress is from NOT enough time to get it all done, from your in-law’s pending trip, or from trying to budget it all in, I want to help you. I created a challenge to help people spend less while having more holiday cheer than ever before. I love giving gifts, but it does go over the top, doesn’t it? We forget the real meaning of the season, but we don’t do it on purpose. We busy ourselves with so much to do that we just slide right through the holiday without a chance to blink.

My goal for the challenge is to not only save more money, but also enjoy the holiday and be more present. Here’s how it works:

Within the 12 days of Christmas, you will try to cross off as many of the items below as possible. Get your family, kids, and friends involved to help spread the cheer!

On the first day of Christmas, I challenge you to CROSS off/eliminate one item on your to do list that costs money and stresses you out!

On the second day of Christmas, I challenge you to host a dinner for your closest friends instead of gifting to each other. Do take out!

On the third day of Christmas, I challenge you to do a wine/martini/cookie exchange for your family or group of friends. Note! This can tie into the second challenge nicely!

On the fourth day of Christmas, I challenge you to donate one gift (or four!).

On the fifth day of Christmas, I challenge you to create a NEW holiday tradition, one that doesn’t cost you money!

On the sixth day of Christmas, I challenge you to trade holiday decorations with a friend instead of buying NEW!

On the seventh day of Christmas, I challenge you to bake cookies for a local hero! Andie and I will be bringing cookies to the police station.

On the eighth day of Christmas, I challenge you to gift a memory. How can you do this? Photos, videos, recreate a memory, bake an old recipe, use your imagination!

On the ninth day of Christmas, I challenge you to have a day to yourself! The holidays are a marathon, you NEED your rest.

On the tenth day of Christmas, I challenge you to ask for help with your holiday preparations. Yes you can ask for help, I give you permission!

On the eleventh day of Christmas, I challenge you to connect with a family member you haven’t spoken with in a while. The holiday time is a great way to reconnect and share memories. Think of someone who might feel alone during this time of the year!

On the twelfth day of Christmas, I challenge you to do a letter campaign to your family and friends. Instead of giving presents, give them a heartfelt letter.

Let me know how your challenge goes on Facebook!
